Monticello, Utah $126 million 60MW 27 tower turbine is near completion and will soon be generating power.

The Latigo Wind Park project is owned and built by Sustainable Power Group (S Power), A renewable energy company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Crowley Construction out of Monticello, Utah was contracted to perform initial infrastructure build on all roads to turbine pad sites. General contractor Fagen, Inc and S Power were so pleased with the on time construction, they asked Gary Crowley if they would be interested in completing all 27 pad builds for wind turbines. Gary's words were "We were under a lot of pressure to complete this job on time, we did it, and thanks to the support from Worldwide Rental Services in getting us the gear we needed"

Each tower reaches 280’ tall, and they are topped with a 2.3 megawatt turbine. Three 187’ long blades catch the wind blowing past them. The windmills start producing power at only 9-12 mph of wind speed. This wind farm alone has the capacity to power 10,000-20,000 houses per year.

On the final phase, two massive transformers, weighing nearly 2.5 million pounds, were installed at the Pinto substation outside of Monticello.

WRS would like to formally congratulate Crowley Construction for a job well done! We were glad to help.
